Embodying the Priestess | Canada Day Magic

Artist: Katia Honour

Artist: Katia Honour

On Canada Day I was very excited to be working a high-end party in Downtown Vancouver. I was hired to do readings for two hours. It was the perfect opportunity for me to dress up and embody the Priestess that I am. The Priestesses work is varied and often Priestesses have a particular skill or ability that they enjoy doing and specialize in. In Indian Culture there are 64 Arts Priestesses used to be trained in that range from dancing, singing, and flower arranging to carpentry, architecture, and word crafting. If anything every happened the Priestess would be prepared to take care of herself and she would be a valued member of society.

The Priestess in my opinion is a representative of the Divine Feminine. When she is doing her work she is literally a conduit of that energy and a perfect representation of Source energy. It is why she is accurate and potent in her work and how she can be so “tapped in”. When I work at a party  like this, it is one of my favourite things, because I get to dress up and be that representative of the Divine and hold space in a way I don’t get to often do. It is a sacred space, and I open myself to allow the perfection of Divine Flow to work through me when I am in this space.

As per the Divine Flow I broke my phone on my way to the party rendering it inoperable. It was dropped as my friend tied my dress for the party. I worked for two hours, reading after reading non-stop, due to the line up of clients. On the last reading I did my dress broke, a signal to me that there would be no more readings that day. I changed into the extra dress I had brought (thank god for intuition!) and was surprised how much my energy changed just based on the dress I wore.

It took me a few hours to come back into my body fully, and when I did, I came back with joy and gratitude for this beautiful experience and opportunity to embody the Priestess, something that I love, and hope to do more of as I continue my studies and practice.  Such gratitude. <3

P.S. I was talking with a Priestess friend of mine and we have both agreed that there needs to be a clothing line of Priestess wear for ceremonial use. I am starting to collect ideas as I’d love to make this line a reality in the future, within the next five to ten years, but I have a lot to learn by then. I would love to hear if you have any Priestess clothing links to stores and jewellery people!

The Truth About the Tucson Gem Show | A Journal Post

~ Sunburnt and High on Life ~

This past February I went to the Tucson Gem Show for the first time ever in my life.

And it was great.

It was beyond great. It was one of the best things I’ve done thus far in my life.

I learned a lot, connected with many in new and interesting ways, I began my journey as a buyer and seller of minerals. I felt my soul melt and come back alive again. I felt at home and understood in a way that I feel rarely understood where I am not.

And its not that I am not surrounded by amazing people. I am. All the time.

This was something different. For a week and a half I was on a high. I was doing all the things that I love and none of the things I dread doing in the sunny desert of Arizona. The weather lifted my moods much in the same way cloudy Vancouver can lower them. I found myself going fast with people I love whom I felt so at home with.

Landing in Vancouver afterwards was a shock to my system. I was exhausted, sun tanned and quite happily sick. Mission accomplished. Sitting on the skytrain to the current housesit I felt a blast of energy go through my body. I didn’t know what it was, and I still don’t know what it was, but when it hit me I couldn’t stop crying.

Homesickness struck me. Not for my Blood Family or where I grew up. I wasn’t craving the Islands, or the friends I have there, in Winnipeg, or in other areas of Canada. I was craving the family I felt I had left in the States, at the Gem Show. I was craving the sense of home I had this previous summer in San Francisco, the first city I have fallen in love with and written love letters to and all the people in that area I felt so at home with.

I realized with a force where my home is – an intention I had set almost one year ago.

Then I couldn’t stop crying for a good nine days.

It was as if each session of tears let something fall away. For those nine days my body was racked with emotional turmoil of mainly fear. The fear showed up in different ways with many different stories and versions of the fears that came up for me. I witnessed myself and creating stress as I dealt with finding a new place to live, receiving the minerals from the States, and money.

My emotions on a daily basis would swing within hours from regret to anger to low self-esteem to grief to straight up fear. Stories went on in my head as I contracted from the world, and decided to do what I needed to do and nothing more than that until my emotions stopped spinning me around in whatever transition or transformation this was.

As I came out of the experience I began to feel my cheery self coming a live again and able to be more fully present. I have slowly, day by day, felt much more able to handle the world and physicality again. I feel like I can be okay with the unknown – and there are so many unknowns and probabilities. I feel like I can be okay with the waxing and waning of life again. I feel like I can stand strong on my feet again.

Words haunt me from the mouths of others as I exit this process, whatever that was: You are beautiful. You are a Goddess. You are intimidating. You are powerful.

I practice now to feel my power, feel my aura, feel my impact on others. The better I can feel it the more awareness and consciousness I can bring to my interactions with others. I’ve only glimpsed my power twice in my life, stories for another day, and now I want to humbly know it so I can use it better to serve each person I encounter in my life.

My own words haunt me, the words I said to perhaps one or two good friends of mine: “I feel like when I come back from Tucson my whole life is going to be at a different frequency. Everything is going to shift and change.”

And it is. Fast. I witness the changes within myself, a gentle smile on my face in the most mundane moments of life, and feel so blessed to be where I am doing what I am.

There are many factors to the changes I see in me and one of them is the Kundalini Yoga course I’ve been doing since October. It has truly been transformational. I am honored and humble at the power of this technology, this world, the power of being a soul in a human being, and with just… everything in this moment and the last few days. I find myself spending more and more moments in that space – shifting, twirling, moving between human and soul and the many faces of each. <3

How To Make Everyday GemStone Elixirs

It’s super, super easy. Anyone can do it. Let me tell you how! With pictures!

There are two types of elixirs that I make. The first elixir is the one that I make in my every day life for drinking, which this article will be focused on. Most of the time my water is infused with some type of mineral when I’m not travelling (and whenever possible when travelling). The second are the type that I make for Willow’s Lavender.

The every day elixirs that I drink are made for quick consumption and are less time consuming to make. They usually have just one or two minerals in them due to fast turnover. I don’t keep extra’s of any of the elixir around because if I want rose quartz water instead of amethyst water I’ll simply make it that day, whereas the elixirs in the store a combination of gemstones to maximize the potency of the mineral kingdom for a specific usage created in ceremony. The process is detailed here.

Before we start lets talk about why on Mother Earth would you want to infuse your water with gemstones? I’ll give you three reasons:

1. Every time you drink water you could be sipping magickal crystal frequencies that heal your body effortlessly, with no thought on your part!

2. It’s a simple, easy, effective way to help attain or maintain the level of consciousness you desire.

3. You bless your water, and when you bless your water you change what the water holds. This means that the unwanted chemicals that don’t serve your body are filtered out, and you are drinking “clean” water.

Let’s get you started on making your own everyday gemstone elixirs!

IMG_9941Step One: The first thing to do is research. Ask yourself, what do you want the elixir to do? What qualities do you want to draw into your life? What do you want to become more of? What do you want to release/heal?

Then check out the crystals and minerals that will help you with that.

I usually use a combination of resources when I do my research. They are good ol’google, The Book of Stones: Who They Are & What They Teach and Love Is in the Earth: A Kaleidoscope of Crystals. Sometimes I’ll use the Liquid Crystal Oracle cards too. After a while you’ll get to know the minerals better and will begin to trust when you intuitively pick out the crystals. Often I’ll just ask my minerals “Who would serve me best in my water?” and go from there.

At this point in the journey its important to double check two things: Does the mineral you’ve chosen dissolve in water? Is the mineral you’ve chosen poisonous?

This is the list that I use.

If you find that your crystals is either water dissoluble or poisonous you can still use it, don’t worry, there’s just a couple extra steps involved because you have to use the double jar method instead of just one jar. The double jar method requires a small jar with a lid that easily fits inside the large jar you are using.

I’m a bit picky so I use glass only when making gemstone elixirs. I never touch the water with metals (caps excluded – I haven’t been able to find glass lids yet) or plastics (the worst!). The water will absorb materials from whatever you put it in and glass tends to be the cleanest so I use glass as much as possible.

You may want to make sure you are in a quiet space to better focus until you are well practised. This part of the process takes a maximum of ten minutes.

You are ready to begin when you’ve assembled the following:

One mason jar (or two if you are doing the double jar method as detailed above)
Your chosen mineral(s)
Water (preferably distilled, however, I often use tap/filtered water – do the best with what you have.)

IMG_9944Step Two: Fill the large jar with water and bless it.

If you are doing the double jar method make sure there is enough room for the small jar to fit without overflowing the large jar.

After the water is inside the jar take a moment to pray over it and to it. Thank it for the wonderful blessings it gives our bodies, thank it for healing our bodies, thank it for flushing toxins out of our body. Thank it for the love it gives us, for the nourishment it provides it. Tell it how wonderful it is and how grateful you are to drink it.

Imagine you are sending love to the water. I will typically stand with my feet firmly planted on the ground, head bowed, both my palms on either side of the jar. I spend a few minutes just pouring out love and gratitude for the water. Then I ask it to bless my body and all who drink this water. I ask for it to accept the mineral I’m about to put in for healing, love and light. I will often visualize matching scenes or symbols as I pray over the water like the Violet Flame or Cho Ko Rei.

This changes the entire structure of the water.

Step Three: Activate & program your mineral.

Then take the mineral, or one mineral at a time if you are using more than one, and place it in the palm of your hands. Either roll it between your palms or simply hold it if its fragile. And begin to program your mineral.

1. Connect to the mineral.
2. Ask the mineral to work with your intention, bringing the qualities you want to the water, infusing the water with with its Divine Unconditional love and healing.
3. Thank the mineral.

IMG_9947Step Four: Place the mineral(s) in the water in the large jar.

If you are using the double jar method place the mineral(s) inside the small jar with the lid on tightly and put the small jar in the big jar.

Step Five: Pray over the water again (optional).

At this point I place both my hands on either side and do a quick prayer asking that the water be infused with properities of this mineral, and state my intention. I say thank you, and relax.

Step Six: You have gemstone infused water!

Enjoy it! Make a refill any time you want!

Experiment too! I’ve had some crazy experiences with certain minerals, but sometimes that’s the best way to learn. I will say that its definitely a lot of fun with the mineral kingdom.

P.S.

If you decide to make an elixir with moldavite, unless you are the 10% of the population that feels grounded with moldavite, please, please, please use a more grounding stone, too, like amethyst and black obsidian. A pure moldavite elixir should pop up with a “Do not drive after drinking or operate heavy machinery or use sharp objects.”

Purity of Thought

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about purity of thought and the power behind it. So voila! Here are some thoughts I’ve been working on for a little while. Enjoy!

Many great teachers have mentioned and taught many times over that purity of thought is a huge component in manifesting ascension for ourselves. They all teach different ways that can help one to achieve the level of purity that is required: thinking positive thoughts, replacing all thoughts with positive ones, mantras, meditation practices, prayer, breathing to mention a few common techniques.

What is purity of thought?

I believe it is the emotional and mental state (thereby physical and spiritual states too) where we are ourselves, one hundred percent pure. In this state we have no fear, sadness, pain, happiness or joy. It is not to say that we do not experience emotion, but rather our emotions do not control us. They don’t bring us into the past or into the future. We are in the moment as each moment happens.

In this state we have no pre-programmed beliefs or systems running through us at all. Other people’s ideas and thoughts from our parents to our society’s no longer exist within us, and we have nothing to truly “process” or “figure out”. It all is, and we are able to see and know in the fullest sense of Truth. We have entered the No-Mind of Zen and Nirvana of Buddhism.

It is also when we are in this completely pure state that our subconscious is in total alignment with our consciousness, and that means we step into full consciousness, full awareness of our power. That is when we have one hundred percent control of our body and we can heal any part of ourselves effortlessly. It is when we are able to reprogram our minds, bodies, and spirit in an instant because we are no longer a slave to the mind or the emotional body. This is sometimes called the state of the Ascended Masters and other enlightened beings.

I believe it is our true state, and we’ve simply forgotten what our true state is. Aka. YES! I’M A SUPERHERO IN DISGUISE!!! 😀

And so are you.

How do we attain purity of thought?

This process is going to be different for each person because we are all unique individuals with so many variables affecting each of us.

Because we are all so unique no one says that you need to be a new age spiritual junkie to attain purity of thought. I personally believe that many people who work close with nature like a survivalist, and all of the people we have seen YouTube videos about as they play with ‘wild animals’ such as lions or crocodiles have somehow attained a purity of thought that is rare in our current society. Perhaps you can attain it with food?

For me, right now it will come through my practices that are largely a mix-mash of many different traditions and the focus of this particular article is written with that focus and influence.

And I believe all of the ways that the great spiritual teachers teach us are all equally valid. Perhaps one of the best ways of reaching purity of thought is using each practice, or devising our own, as it fits most naturally in our lives.

If we were to do all of the most common spiritual practices our life might look something like:

  • Wake up
  • Meditate in whichever form you are inspired to (minimum 1 hour)
  • Yoga
  • Visit nature to maintain a strong connection to the planet (and its grounding)
  • Pray
  • Practice gratitude
  • Constant watching of thought and reprogramming thought patterns as much as possible (tireless work)

When do you actually go to work?

Purity of Thought in Practice

It seems like a lot, and it is. It gets easier for all of us as more people do the work to create larger paths for others to follow. It also gets easier with practice because it turns into a lifestyle that naturally benefits you. I know from my personal experience that tenacious dedication to my spiritual practices at first were essential in turning spirituality into a natural lifestyle. Even though there was a lot of work involved I noticed a general improvement over my entire well-being and flow to my life.

I’ve also noticed that many practices have become so well ingrained with my life after years of practice that I am no longer able to separate the spiritual part of myself from the rest of me. It would take conscious effort on my part to stop doing spiritual practices because I have such a strong habit of praying when I’m walking, practicing mindfulness whenever I remember, and watching my thoughts.

I am still far from perfect though and often  I resist flowing into a more dedicated practice in my life. I say, “I’m too busy” to meditated everyday. That is an excuse, I know. Often when I experience resistance to my practice and so slowly I let it decline into something (for me) that’s non-existent. This resistance comes most often from fear. This was the fear that Marianne Williamson so famously speaks about in the following words:

“it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.”

Any practice, spiritual or not, that brings us closer to our true selves, our Divinity, helps our light shine brighter and our power to grow.

Results of Purity of Thought

In our society purity of thought separates us from the norm, our light and power separates us from everyone else. (Spiderman anyone? Batman? Cat Woman? X-Men? Maybe they aren’t all light, but they definitely have power and they are definitely separate from the norm…)

The stronger our light shines, the greater the degree of difference we feel from more people. We no longer resonate with them. We are there to help and share our wisdom and talents but the actual amount of people that we can be true friends or lovers with gets smaller and smaller and smaller the purer our thought becomes. Unless we show everyone how easy it is to be a superhero! 😛

To have purity of thought defines you as someone different from everyone else. Purity of thought brings forth the impossible into everyday lives, and when it is strong, can show what is actually possible as a human being. People who pursue this purity will learn that their lives are very different from the norm, and it will in a sense alienate them from the majority. But they will be the most courageous, brilliant, ingenious, beautiful and radiant human beings we will ever see and know.

 My Conclusion

Therefore, I accept the challenge to manifest purity of thought in my own mind. Because I’m done being scared of who I truly am. Because I am going to take control and take responsibility for everything in my life so that I can create exactly what I desire in my life. So each day I will learn my lessons as best I can, and learn more about how I can shine, practicing releasing all that holds me back. Because I really love the thought that I’M A SUPERHERO!

What do you say? Will you join me in uncovering your inner superhero? Perhaps your path is not one of meditation. What path do you choose, and what path works for you?

I’m excited to hear about your adventures! 🙂

P.S.

This article turned out to be five-page long essay, so this blog post is a much shortened version of that. 🙂

Emotional Outbreak at the Full Moon

Full Moon

The full moon from my bedroom window!

Hello!

Today, I decided that I have been undergoing a full moon release for the past couple of days. It actually started about two weeks ago with a dream… A dream of a volcano about to explode, breathing out smoke and ash as it has for a while. None of the villagers knew when it would explode, but eventually it would, and so they were moving out of the way. I was on my way to be the bride in a wedding.

Well, I thought about it a little bit, asked a couple people about what it could mean, and we came up that it could mean a huge emotional outburst with my boyfriend. I couldn’t see it happening any time soon since things between us were going well.

Then I have another volcano dream, one I can’t remember details of, while at my boyfriends house. Immediately I get up and look it up in the dream dictionary, and it states “emotional outburst of pent up emotion.”  Interesting.

Then that night overwhelming anger comes up. I rant. I cry. My heart feels so full of pain. I don’t understand the worlds cruelties. I know that this world is not supposed to be like this. It is supposed to be a place of love and joy for everyone. My boyfriend listens and hugs me.

The next day I feel a bit off, a bit blue, but what are you going to do? Sometimes I have blue days. Later that night I feel it deep in my soul and I pray, crying for help from the Universe and the Ones who work with me. And I fear I don’t have the strength to do the next major piece of my journey.

All I hear is “You do. You have the Strength.” And I know they will help me. I can do it.

I cried for a few hours that night, and it seemed to release a lot of things emotionally. I could feel things shifting around inside my body and my mind. I also have a new focus in my life: Self-sustainability.

I am very happy and excited for this part of my journey. I know I will make it.

So tonight, for my full moon ceremony I wrote a short list of what I want to release and burned it. I then spent time expressing gratitude for everything – those that work with me, the people that surround me, that where I am now is such a better place on all levels than where I was last year at this time, and more.

Now I am happily off to accomplish my mission for 2012: Self-sustainability!

P.S.

Jade is one of two stones that help increase one’s ability to be self-sustainable. 🙂
