Five Crystal Must-Haves (For Beginners)

Many people ask me what kind of crystal they should get for their crystal collection when they are first starting out. It always surprises me and I’m never sure what to say because where I operate from now is that each mineral is so individualized to give a generic list seems almost impossible.

The more I thought about it though, the more that I realized that I do have minerals in my collection that I view as a must-have in order for a personal crystal collection to be complete. Many of them are just so versatile that to be without would be foolish, in my opinion!

Here’s the list for those of you new to the crystal realms!

Citrine-0051. Citrine ~ works with the solar plexus

This is one of the minerals I probably use the most. Its one of the few minerals that all humans agree doesn’t need cleansing or clearing ever, and it will cleanse/clear your other minerals. It has a focus on abundance, clarity and harnessing your inner power as it works with the solar plexus. It cleanses and purifies the spaces that its in as well. I’ve kept a small piece of citrine in my wallet for years to help clear the energy in my life around finances.

I have a piece on my alter that I regularly use to clear my crystals. The particular piece I use was gifted to me to be used in clearing of spaces ceremony, and it has attended every single house clearing I have done since. It is invaluable to me, travelling in bags with other minerals clearing them as we move to our next destination. In meditations it has brought healing and clearing to my solar plexus.

This mineral isn’t the fastest working mineral. Effects can be amplified with herkimer or quartz, or by placing it in a grid. Otherwise this mineral works slow and steady. Its persistent and determined with a steady pace, and will raise your frequency to be the same.

I recently decided I was going to work more with citrine on an abundance level. In the Liquid Oracle Crystal book (that comes with the cards) there is an exercise I’ve just prepared for: Take one orange candle and place it above the citrine card (in a candle holder). In between place a piece of paper with what you desire written on it. Burn the candle and meditate on what you want for 7 minutes each day for 21 days. What you want will either have manifested or you will know why not.

I’ll let you know how it goes when I try it!

amethyst02a2. Amethyst ~ works with the third eye

A multi-dimensional purple stone that clears spaces. Amethyst is one of the great transmutation stones and has been found in several different variations over the last fifty years or so. Any of the variations from auralite to super seven are great and powerful. Amethyst is a great mineral to have around because of its transmutation properties: it clears spaces, and helps keep everything at a rather high frequency.

It also works with the third eye, the intuitive center. Meditation with a piece of amethyst at your third eye will activate and open the chakra, if it isn’t already. Meditating simply holding the mineral in your hands and visualizing your energy filtering through the amethyst is an effective meditation of changing, healing, shifting your auric field. If your third eye is overactive meditating with amethyst will bring it into balance.

I have clusters, tumbled, and raw pieces of amethyst and its variations that litter my room and crystal collection. They are invaluable to me, and I usually rotate between the different ones which travel with me.

rosequartz3. Rose Quartz ~ works with the heart

This one is a must have, especially for our Western Culture. This is a mineral that helps us to learn to love ourselves. When meditating with this mineral one can feel the pure love it emanates. It heals us by allowing us to receive love from ourselves and from others. It softly and gently leads us to a place where we can take care of ourselves first, and understanding that it’s okay to be selfish sometimes if that means you are taking care of yourself.

I worked with a big rose quartz ball for two years that was gifted to me. This past summer I gifted it to a wonderful woman. Rosie and I slept together almost every night during the period we were working with each other. I began a practice of asking myself when making decisions: Is this an act of self-love?

I learned to be okay releasing that which wasn’t serving me, which was challenging at times due to my own neurosis. I learned to recognize and be okay with the neurosis that I carry, seeing that it isn’t me. And the neurosis when expressed by others aren’t them either. It became easier to see the soul of others and myself. It became easier to not identify with my feelings.

And during that two years I really got to know myself well. And accept most of me.

Rose quartz is such a gentle, loving presence that subtly works on your energetic fields you will hardly feel it. If you do it will feel like you’ve fallen into a soft love cloud.

selenitetumbled4. Selenite ~ works with the aura & all chakras

This is a soft white mineral who’s energy is equally as soft. It is a self clearing mineral as well, and I’ve worked with it in various forms, but mostly wands. This is an epic aura cleanser, and balancer of the energies in your chakras. It is the mineral to grab for healing work if you are unsure which one to use because its so versatile.

I’ve used this mineral to extract and reduce pain, to clear the aura, to clear the chakras, in dream work, to open up my intuition and to faciliate communication with my guides. I keep a selenite wand beside my bed always to clear the dream space to allow me to have good dreams, similar to a dream catcher.

5. A grounding mineral ~ works with the root/sacral depending on mineral

I couldn’t decide what to make the fifth mineral. There are so many amazing ones, so I tried to imagine that I had a back of these four minerals, what would make it feel complete? A mineral for grounding! But which one? That depends on the person’s frequencies!

This last mineral I would say would need to be one of the following: Hematite, Black Obsidian, Black Tourmaline or Carnelian. All of these minerals can be used for grounding from a different frequency and a different way. It’s up to you to use the one that is most effective for you.

Some minerals I find too heavy for me and get headaches, slow and a lack of clarity. Other minerals don’t seem to affect me, while some minerals are just perfect for me, like carnelian.

So if I were to give you or sell you a bag of minerals as a starter set to the mineral kingdom that’s what I would put in the bag, with whichever grounding crystal you would prefer. This gives you ample minerals to explore and get you used to their energies and the way they work without overwhelming you. The minerals are powerful and versatile but gentle, so its a beautiful introduction to the mineral kingdom in my opinion.

The 4 Most Intriguing Crystals of Summer 2013 Part 2

Welcome back! Are you as curious as I am excited to share these next two crystals with you? Be prepared to be amazed!

20131227_1543183. A.R.C.rystal or ARC Vogel Crystal

What a beauty. This crystal is perfectly cut to a knife sharp point. It’s tiny, orange, and there seems to be no defect whatsover. This crystal was gifted to me during my travels on a RV named Grace, that literally ran on grace. The man who owned and drove the RV is a Soul Brother of mine. My friend and I caught a ride with him and at some point on the trip he gifted myself and my friend each one of these beauts.

He told us that they were very, very special crystals, and that he felt we would use them well. I had never seen anything like them, as I held it up to the sun looking at the dust-filled hole. The dust is made of approximately 26 different minerals crushed up into fine dust. The dust then fills the hole, capped with gold, so that the vogel amplifies the mineral mixture.

The vogel is cut to vibrate at the same frequency as water which causes a resonant reaction to your body. This reaction allows the crystal and your body to exchange information effortlessly. Vogels are known to be able to transfer geometric patterns to the body in a process called piezoelectric resonance. The transfer of geometric patterns with a Vogel cut crystal allows for the DNA to be altered in our bodies.

On top of all of this, one of the crystal keepers that I met over the summer and I got to talking about this crystal. I wanted more information on it and I was wondering if he had any. He knew exactly what I was talking about when I mentioned it to him because he had a friend who worked at actually creating these minerals – cutting them and the composition of the mineral dust. There are only two machines in the world that can cut a mineral to the exact dimensions that it must be to even be considered a vogel.

There are also a wide variety of technologies that he mentioned that are being created using vogels. Marcel Vogel is the genius behind this potent crystal, and also the most knowledgeable on it. There is a series of videos on YouTube that he made.

Another vogel entered my life earlier that summer but I hadn’t thought the two were similar until the end of summer. That vogel was one kept by a powerful priestess. It was unlike anything I had ever read before in my life: the power that emanated from it, the consciousness from which it spoke, the information it contained for her to unlock. These vogels are something else.

yehmingzhu4. Yeh Ming Ju or Yeh Ming Zhu

While I was travelling around I kept running into the same people who were travelling a similar circuit. Throughout the summer, until the last festival I attended I kept hearing about a mysterious crystal called the Yeh Ming Ju (pronounced Yeh Men Jay). I had been hearing about this mysterious crystal all summer, and on top of it all, it apparently glows!

And let me tell you – that last festival was filled with glowing crystals from the rainbow moonstone blue opal on my forehead (long story) to the man who used magic to make crystals glow from the inside out to the yeh ming ju’s.

Finally I approached the man selling them, demanded it really, to see the yeh ming ju, since he was always so busy with the many people that were in and out of the tea house he sold crystals at.

Silently, before all of us, he took out a large wooden box filled with various yeh ming ju of all sizes, shapes and colours. “They come in three colours,” said he. “Blue, green or purple.”

He selected one, and walked over to the lamp lighting the tent. He stood for about thirty seconds with the yeh min ju held up to the light. Then he flicked off the light and the tent fell to darkness as completely as it was dark outside. A chorus of Ooooo’s and Aahhh’s sounded by all in the tent as the mysterious mineral was glowing in his hands.

He turned back on the light and wordlessly passed the mineral to me. Wide-eyed I took it and placed in in my hands. I had to focus hard – normal conversations had returned – I knew it might be a long while before I was able to work with the mineral one on one over an extended period. I closed my eyes and tuned in.

I was walking down a path, the mineral guiding me down a dark tunnel. We went through a doorway with two massive wood doors, and I was welcomed by the Beings that work through this mineral. They didn’t introduce themselves; they just simply asked if I was ready to accept the mineral.

Part of me wanted to say yes but I said no. They asked the question and I could see vines growing around me desiring to bind me with this particular yeh ming ju. I declined the offer, and walked away. The words of another crystal keeper replayed in my head: yeh ming ju’s bond with their keeper just like moldavite does. They are life long companions.

I opened my eyes and my whole body came back alive as I looked at the man who had let me hold the mineral. “How much are they?”

“One hundred and fifty dollars.”

I looked down at the pea sized yeh ming ju with sadness in my heart. It would not be coming home with me today. I gave it back to the crystal keeper and thanked him before bounding out of the tent back into the night.

It was an amazing experience that has left me intrigued beyond belief. I am so excited to share this mineral with others, even though I have yet to work with a piece deeply.

The yeh ming jeh comes from China where legends abound about it. It is a very rare mineral and there are three varieties. Ancient Yeh Ming Jeh which were owned by the royal families of China. There are the counterfeits often sold in the Chinese markets. And there are Modern Yeh Ming Jeh, which was the one that I experienced.

The Modern Yeh Ming Jeh are lab created making them much more available to people worldwide. They contain the same rare earth elements as the Ancient Yeh Ming Jeh and are alchemized in a specific way to recreate the mineral.

Different colours do different things, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot written about them yet. I can’t wait to work with them further!

The 4 Most Intriguing Crystals of Summer 2013 Part 1

This past summer I went on a journey, a pilgrimage if you will. It wasn’t planned on my part. I simply dreamt that it was time for me to go travel, and when I woke up the Universe had already constructed a plan to get me travelling and out the door. I was gifted the chance to meet many magical crystal beings and fewer but equally as magical crystal keepers throughout my travels.

I’d like to share with the four most intriguing minerals I came across this summer, a few of which I have the privilege and joy of working with, in no particular order.

20131225_160352

The Andara I’ve been working with. It has an angels wing on the other side. 🙂

Woah! Can I just say, wow! The first pieces of Anadara I encountered in the Crystal Room in Mt. Shasta. If your unfamiliar with the Crystal Room it is actually an eight room crystal store tucked around the corner from the main drag of the town of Mt. Shasta. I cried the first time I went in because of the overwhelming love inside the store, which tells me the crystals are well loved and taken care of.

I wandered all the way to the last room in the shop and on the floor were sitting two huge chunks of aqua-blue Andara. I had never seen anything like it before. They were just like glass, but different. I touched one and tuned into it, someone playing a crystal bowl in the background.

Instantly I was transported underwater to Atlantis. It opened up its doors and I saw all sorts of mystical fish and sealife including mermaids. Entering cave up to dry land we stopped. I began to witness a scene. I could feel myself being pulled in very deep and I didn’t have time to sit at the moment so I pulled myself out of it. I queried the shop workers, but they didn’t know too much about it except for the name of the crystal.

I was fascinated since that day. I saw various pieces, and noted that the prices were rising over the summer to $183 for a fairly small chunk at one of the mineral stores in Shasta I was frequently – way over priced, over double what it is at cost.

I also came across arguments: are they real? What are they? How do you tell real ones from glass?

If you can’t feel the difference it would be a challenge I would guess. I was in Ashland, Oregon going for a massage when I came across a woman who was selling them for her friend. She hadn’t sold very many of them. For the same sized chunk as mentioned above, it was only $40. It was all I had in my wallet but I knew one was coming home with me.

Mine is rose pink, and I’d love to work with the aqua blue. I was also able to work with large smokey andaras over the summer. I channelled that they each align colour-wise with the chakra system, expanding, balancing and anchoring in higher levels of consciousness. They work fast and are potent for the people working with them. They are gifted to us at this time to help us raise consciousness to the true level of where we are supposed to be.

Research states that they come from only one place in the world, found on Nellie’s Land. They are composed of prima matra and are not volcanic glass even though they look like glass. They are currently gaining notoriety in the metaphysical world as fast consciousness expanders, powerful healing tools, and gateways to other realms.

I’ve just begun working with mine in deep meditation, and wow. It’s amazing. I would love to work with more of different colours. Each Andara is connected to an Ascended Master aligned to the colour of the Sacred Flames.

The Azeztulite I’ve been working with. The white wand from Mt. Shasta and two pieces from a client.

2. Azeztulite

I collected a few pieces over the summer: white, rose and gold. The rose and gold were chosen by a client of mine who knew I was looking for this mineral due to its properties as an ascension mineral. It, too, came to the planet at this time to help with the consciousness and to help us grow faster. It is also a questionable mineral, many people wondering how to tell the difference between quartz and azeztulite.

I was in Shasta when I had a dream that told me to go to Soul Connections, a crystal store in Shasta. I woke up and told my friend that we have to go to Soul Connections today. We walked in and I was guided to go to the azeztulite section which I had been watching all summer long for a piece that called to me and I could afford. Sitting on the top of the pile was my piece, the most beautiful piece of azeztulite I had seen them carry all summer (as shown in the picture). My friend bought the crystal for me that was out of my price range, thankfully, and I’ve enjoyed it every since.

The minerals contain a soft frequency that unfold into transcendence and uplift. It elevates one to the joy and happiness that are our birthrights, allowing us to release all that doesn’t serve. Each one works on a ray with a specific being, similar to the Andaras. If you are familiar with the Sacred Flames you can match both the Andaras and Azeztulites to the various flames I feel. Azeztulite work in a more well round way instead of having a laser-like focus. They are just generally more soft and feel like a loving grandmother to  me.

In meditations they have proven to be potent. They connect to higher realms with a softness and overflowing love that just holds a person in a place of peace and joy, allowing the world around them to go by. It’s not a passive allowance, but a surrender to the flow, a lack of attachment. Its time to just be.

If you have the opportunity to work with these guys, do it. I’m still exploring their gifts. The white one came to me to be used on others, combining amazingly well with the ametrine wand I often use. Together, used on the hands, they bring others to other dimensions and provide an experience of synaesthesia. If you can sit with a piece of ametrine and a piece of azeztulite I highly recommend it.

If you want to read more about this mineral look it up in The Book of Stones: Who They Are & What They Teach. They have quite an extensive section on it, the best place to read about it actually.

Apparently I have a lot to say about these minerals! Stayed tuned for Part Two next week! You will not be disappointed!

The Difference Between an Oracle and a Card Reader

Divine-Goddess-copy-NO-TEXT1-1024x1024I’ve been working in this field for a few years now establishing myself and what I do. My main clientèle has been friends or friends of friends that are walking a similar path with similar goals: they desire to know about their soul, they are interested in their evolutionary and ascension processes, they want to learn about themselves and the world around them.

Last year I decided to take my business to a new level in a couple of different ways.

First I decided to get a job as an online psychic. I thought it would be great because it would allow me to establish an online and location independent source of income which furthers my life goals and gives me practice doing what I love. I had an image of giving powerful card readings to people who wanted to receive the information.

Second I went around to local businesses and gave them proposals to see if I could offer readings in partnership with one of the businesses. I figured that this would establish a local clientèle faster and would get my name out there as a reader.

There was one thing I was  not expecting to learn: the difference between a card reader and an oracle.

I received what I wanted, both an online job as a psychic and work in a local cafe.

Neither were what I was expecting. The local cafe was a low paying gig with a possibility that if I were there long enough I would gradually gain clientelle. It was a positive experience overall, I just know that now I would not lower my prices again by as much as I did even to gain clientelle. I wasn’t receiving my favorite clients, the ones that let me go deep into my own soul for answers.

The online psychic job really was what made me understand who my clientelle really is. Online I was being asked what I consider fluff questions: When is the girl I like going to text me? My husband is coming over; we are separated, do you think it will go well? Tell me the name of my next lover. And so on. These are just a few examples of questions that were asked.

I hated it. I wanted to go deeper. I wanted to go into the soul of things. These clients would pay the shortest amount of time they could to get the answer they wanted and then off they would go. I wasn’t allowed to go into depth with these clients which gave my interactions a surface level of feeling.

I’m not saying that to worry about love in your life is a bad or negative. I’m saying that when it is your obsession it is not healthy, and when I tuned into these clients it is an obsession with love because there is nothing else to focus the mind on. There are more important things to worry about than about your love life. What about the life of your soul?

And then one day I realized that was the difference between a reader and and oracle.

A reader is good at giving you the more superficial stuff. They are happy to tell you who your next lover is going to be, where you will next, and all of that jazz. In fact, that is  more of the focus of the reading because that’s what most people want to know. Readers can go deep into your personality and into what is going on in the past and future. In my experience they often do.

thirdeyeascensionAll of this is extremely useful. It helps a lot of people and is not a bad thing. It is just different from what I do.

Oracles may touch on all of those things but they are far from the focus of the reading. A reading with an oracles is something that goes deep, goes all the way to the depths of the soul, takes you on a journey. It is honest.

And the honest truth is that sometimes we can’t tell you what the future is going to be because of all the probabilities. Sometimes we are going to tell you tough things you don’t want to to hear. An oracle focuses on where you are in this present moment and what will serve you best to know.

Oracles will help you listen to what your soul is craving to tell you and what to do with that information at times. An oracle will give you guidance on what steps to take to create the life you want to live and opens up to allow Spirit to come speak through them.

I realized that is what I do.

I don’t want an online psychic job any more.

Nor do I want to work at a cafe or restaurant.

I want to find clients who make me excited to go to work and do a reading because I know I’m going to use my gifts fully.

I want to develop long-term relationships with people who are on a spiritual journey and path, people who are willing to go deep.

I want to find clients who challenge me to expand, to be a better reader and who ask me hard questions.

Manifesto of an Oracle

Just for fun! I’ve always wanted to make a manifesto so I decided to start out the new year with them!

A collection of my beliefs, frameworks, and what I operate with as truth and do my best to embody. Printed it out and posted it on my wall as a daily reminder. Do you have a manifesto? What is it?
