The Difference Between an Oracle and a Card Reader

Divine-Goddess-copy-NO-TEXT1-1024x1024I’ve been working in this field for a few years now establishing myself and what I do. My main clientèle has been friends or friends of friends that are walking a similar path with similar goals: they desire to know about their soul, they are interested in their evolutionary and ascension processes, they want to learn about themselves and the world around them.

Last year I decided to take my business to a new level in a couple of different ways.

First I decided to get a job as an online psychic. I thought it would be great because it would allow me to establish an online and location independent source of income which furthers my life goals and gives me practice doing what I love. I had an image of giving powerful card readings to people who wanted to receive the information.

Second I went around to local businesses and gave them proposals to see if I could offer readings in partnership with one of the businesses. I figured that this would establish a local clientèle faster and would get my name out there as a reader.

There was one thing I was  not expecting to learn: the difference between a card reader and an oracle.

I received what I wanted, both an online job as a psychic and work in a local cafe.

Neither were what I was expecting. The local cafe was a low paying gig with a possibility that if I were there long enough I would gradually gain clientelle. It was a positive experience overall, I just know that now I would not lower my prices again by as much as I did even to gain clientelle. I wasn’t receiving my favorite clients, the ones that let me go deep into my own soul for answers.

The online psychic job really was what made me understand who my clientelle really is. Online I was being asked what I consider fluff questions: When is the girl I like going to text me? My husband is coming over; we are separated, do you think it will go well? Tell me the name of my next lover. And so on. These are just a few examples of questions that were asked.

I hated it. I wanted to go deeper. I wanted to go into the soul of things. These clients would pay the shortest amount of time they could to get the answer they wanted and then off they would go. I wasn’t allowed to go into depth with these clients which gave my interactions a surface level of feeling.

I’m not saying that to worry about love in your life is a bad or negative. I’m saying that when it is your obsession it is not healthy, and when I tuned into these clients it is an obsession with love because there is nothing else to focus the mind on. There are more important things to worry about than about your love life. What about the life of your soul?

And then one day I realized that was the difference between a reader and and oracle.

A reader is good at giving you the more superficial stuff. They are happy to tell you who your next lover is going to be, where you will next, and all of that jazz. In fact, that is  more of the focus of the reading because that’s what most people want to know. Readers can go deep into your personality and into what is going on in the past and future. In my experience they often do.

thirdeyeascensionAll of this is extremely useful. It helps a lot of people and is not a bad thing. It is just different from what I do.

Oracles may touch on all of those things but they are far from the focus of the reading. A reading with an oracles is something that goes deep, goes all the way to the depths of the soul, takes you on a journey. It is honest.

And the honest truth is that sometimes we can’t tell you what the future is going to be because of all the probabilities. Sometimes we are going to tell you tough things you don’t want to to hear. An oracle focuses on where you are in this present moment and what will serve you best to know.

Oracles will help you listen to what your soul is craving to tell you and what to do with that information at times. An oracle will give you guidance on what steps to take to create the life you want to live and opens up to allow Spirit to come speak through them.

I realized that is what I do.

I don’t want an online psychic job any more.

Nor do I want to work at a cafe or restaurant.

I want to find clients who make me excited to go to work and do a reading because I know I’m going to use my gifts fully.

I want to develop long-term relationships with people who are on a spiritual journey and path, people who are willing to go deep.

I want to find clients who challenge me to expand, to be a better reader and who ask me hard questions.

It’s My Birthday! It’s My Birthday!

And I dance around and around and around because I’m excited to enter into my twenty-fourth year of living on this planet! I did a little research to find out what this next year will hold for me and this is what I found!

Astrologically

Every twelve years Jupiter returns (ages 12, 24, 34, 48, etc.). When Jupiter returns it is usually a lucky and positive year for Jupiter means abundance (YES!) and opportunity flows into your life. The more positive you are the more you are able to see and take the opportunities that flow your ways. It is a time of expansion. It encourages us to take risks and be bold, knowing that we will be taken care of (do I need more risk taking?) and gives us confidence that we many not have. It is important to not let the ego get over-inflated and to not over extend ourselves when Jupiter returns.

I really liked this article about Jupiter Returns.

Birthstones

Whaaaaat!? Tanzanite Shoes!!!??? Worth 2 million dollars!

Whaaaaat!? Tanzanite Shoes!!!??? Worth 2 million dollars!

I always was aware that Turquoise is a birthstone for the great truth seeking Sagittarious, but Blue Topaz? I did some more research and Wikipedia informed me of the following:

In the 15th – 20th century my birthstone was: Heliotrope and Ruby
In the US in 1912 it was: Turquoise and Lapis Lazuli
In the US today  it is: Turquoise, Zircon and Tanzanite (I will tell you that I have a love affair with all three of these stones, especially Tanzanite right now!)
In Britain today  it is: Tanzanite and Turquoise (YAY!)
In Hindu culture it is: Topaz (perhaps that’s why I’m drawn to it)
In the tropics: Topaz Topaz is sometimes defined as blue topaz.

I’ve never heard of Zircon or Tanzanite or Topaz being a birthstone of mine. I am quite happy they are!

I’ve yet to work with blue topaz.

Turquoise is a stone of good luck and fortune, one that matches the free-spirited sagittarious inside of me.

Lapis Lazuli I fell in love with a few years ago when I saw a ball of it. When I held the ball that looked like the Earth with its oceans and clouds I was projected out of my body and circled it, knowing I could land anywhere I wanted to on the Earth and check it out etherically. I’ve wanted to work with a lapis lazuli globe ever since – that was at a gem show I went to! This summer I travelled with a piece in my drinking water. I love Lapis.

You can read a channel about Lapis Lazuli here.

Zircon I worked with early this year in conjunction with Morganite. It really helped me to open up to the changes required to open my heart to Divine Unconditional Love. Zircon helps us go through major shifts in life, grounding us as these shifts occur and a more expansive truth becomes our truth.

Tanzanite is well, tanzanite! I fell in love with this crystal this year at its beauty and grace. It unites the mind and heart and helps to develop the psychic senses. It is a protective stone that allows one to open up fully to the psychic and meditative realms. It uses the violet flame and heals the throat and heart chakras while speeding the process of spiritual growth.

Blue Topaz heals depression, increases self-worth and helps to keep one aligned to their truth. It aids in healing the eyesight (a goal of mine at some point!). It is often used to draw in abundance and wealth. It releases fears and anger, and all sorts of related things while bringing clarity on our souls path and what we have to do and how to do it, why we wanted to do certain things and why they weren’t fulfilled.

Sounds like a  powerful stone to make an elixir with, eh?

Numerology

For me the next year of my life is a 9. Well, starting in two weeks, in 2014. This year is about death, rebirth and transformation. From what I gathered from reading several websites on the matter (the first one I read was rather negative) this year can be a challenge or it can be a really good year depending if I’m willing to allow my focus to shift from myself to service of others, and if I’m willing to release those things that aren’t serving me. It’s time to step into the joy of life and allow myself to be taken away by creativity, enjoying music and community. It’s time to realize my dreams and complete the projects that I’ve been working on, and also time to reflect, learn from the past, and share those lessons. It is time to reap the harvest of your journey thus far before entering into a new cycle.

And my birthday number from one of my favourite go-to numerology websites!

Sounds like a powerful year. I’m already feeling that it will be a year to remember, with a lot falling into place. It feels like it is a transformative time in my life as the last few pieces of self-empowerment fall into place and become clear.

I feel like I’m going to enter into a space of working on things that I love and resonate with to create a source of income and I’m really going to learn how to manifest my own wealth and abundance on multiple levels.

It will be a potent year for me, especially doing the Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training at YogaWest combined with the personal work that I already do.

I’m excited! Yay birthdays!
