Five Amazing Heart Chakra Crystals

V-day is tomorrow and this is the month of love in our Western Culture. While there is a lot of people complaining about the monetization and corporate greed, at least on my Facebook and in my friend groups, I’m actually grateful that this day has become so big.

In our Western Society we need a reminder to love sometimes. We need reminders to open our hearts bigger. We need the reminder that it is okay to love, fully, without hesitation. We need that push sometimes to really do what our heart desires, to really make known what we want.

While I don’t agree with having to spend lots of money or buying into the consumer holiday aspect of this month of love, I do appreciate those reminders. I do appreciate the mass celebration of love that happens like no other time in our culture.

Personally I feel that everyday is a day of love. Everyday is a day to learn to love better both ourselves and others. There’s a quote that I used to have on my wall, I’m pretty sure it was by Rumi, however I wasn’t able to find the full quote for you. It talks about how each moment we live we have a choice: Love or Fear. It’s up to use from which energy we respond to each moment.

That’s what I feel the mineral kingdom is constantly doing: constantly reminding us to act from love. Constantly reconnecting us to the Divine Unconditional Love within us. Constantly reminding us to open our hearts, receive our Divine Birthright of Abundance, Love and Joy.

That being said, here are my Top Five Heart Chakra Crystals!

rosequartzheart1. Rose Quartz

This is the go-to mineral for the heart chakra because of its work with self love. I’ve spoken about it in this previous post, so I’m going to keep the words about this mineral short. Rose quartz opens up our hearts to self-love and helps us learn its okay to take care of ourselves. If we are single this Valentine’s Day why not cuddle up with your rose quartz and ask, What actions can I take today that would be from Self-Love?

It may suggest a bath with some essential oils, or going out for a delectable meal. Perhaps it will be to take yourself out on a date, or maybe it will be to allow yourself to turn off your phone for the night so you can really just be with yourself. Who knows?

Oh lovers, lovers, lovers! This is the mineral for you on this day of love! Moonstone has many legends about it being used to attract lovers and to incite the act of making love. Known as the “lovers stone”, it has been known to reconcile lovers, and to also cause lovers to fall in love. It is the mineral of intuition, femininity, and the moon. It draws forth intuitive flashes and positive emotional feelings rather than working with the logics of the mind. Read more here.

hiddenite

3. Hiddenite or Green Spodumene

This crystal is one of my favorites to work with on the heart chakra center! It opens the heart softly and gently to heal our relationships with others from the heart. It brings feelings of joy, gratitude, and peace uplifting your moods. It allows you to move on from situations that have hurt your heart, and for forgiveness to occur.

It is especially amazing for break-ups. There is folklore that states if two lovers break up, and one lover gifts both of them a piece of hiddenite the pieces will work together to heal the wounds between each other, allowing forgiveness to occur. It doesn’t mean necessarily that they will get back together, but it does give them the opportunity to be friends or at least able to be in the same room with each other!

It is also used in fights to calm the space and to allow people to interact more from the heart center. I’ve had visions working with my piece of being in fights with family but holding the piece in my hand, allowing the vibrations to waft over all beings present to bring the fight more heart centered and expressive than ego-centered.

Ruby_cristal4. Ruby

Ruby is considered by many to be one of the most powerful minerals in the world. When I tune into it I get sense of power with a very old ancient energy with it. The energy doesn’t feel irrelevant to today’s world, but feels like we need to use it in new ways. It feels like this mineral was once used by many royals and conquerers for its energies of bringing wealth and sexuality to their lives.

In today’s world, I feel it is asking us to now use it to anchor into our bodies and selves the abundance consciousness of the planet. It asking us to use and amass wealth and prosperity in heart centered ways. It brings with it a whirlwind of healing our sexuality as well.

On top of all the metaphysical stuff, it also heals the heart and the liver physically. It is known to cleanse and clear the blood, and aid in circulation. If you want to gift yourself or someone you know with a love mineral, I would say this is it.

P.S. I feel that ruby will become more well known and used on our planet in the coming years due to its ability to work with the Ruby Ray/Ruby Red Ray. Ruby projects and connects to a very particular frequency that reconnects us to our inherent wealth and nobility.

20131225_1603525. Pink Andara

Okay, okay, I have fallen in love with Andaras. And mine is pink. I’ve gone through a period of a few weeks meditating with my piece on my heart chakra, and wow. I’m amazed at how much it moves and shifts my armour around my heart center. I could literally feel it grabbing the armour and dissolving it, leaving my heart center much more open.

This is a mineral that will connect you directly to your heart center dissolving all blockages to allow Divine Unconditional Love to flow right through you easily and gracefully. It will connect you Quan Yin, the Female Buddha, who is also known as the Goddess of Compassion. Your life unfolds with more ease and grace as this process occurs, bringing more opportunities and flow.

Using all of these minerals as your intuition guides you will help you with several things: You will learn to fall in love wit yourself, you will learn to let love flow and that love is the true power is this World, that all things benefit and grow from Unconditional Love but love from the ego destroys. It will become obvious to you what your heart is guiding you to do, and it will lower the amour  around your heart which allows you to be more authentically you.

These stones will teach you how to truly love.

And also balance.

You will learn that the greatest act of self-love is to take care of yourself first.

Sunstone – The Lovers Heart (Solstice Stone)

This stone is one of masculine light. It shows and helps develop the strength and ability to let ones light shine brightly without worrying about others. This stone feels almost harsh when placed beside it’s oft thought of counterpart moonstone. And indeed they are partners in a lot of ways; however, it is not recommended that these stones are worked with together until one is fairly aware and knowledgeable in the masculine and feminine energies. Then we say to experience a full balance meditate with sunstone in the left hand and moonstone in the right hand. A powerful meditation.

This is a stone of inner strength and balance. As the feminine likes a flow this stone likes to help the masculine stay strong. For the user this stone will allow creativity, ideas, and ingenuity flow without losing direction, focus or interval guidance.

We call this stone the lovers’ heart because it represents it so perfectly in how this stone helps humanity in general. A lover’s heart is soft, forgiving, and full of excitement and acceptance. It fills us with a sense of peace, openness and adventure. A lover’s heart is also very strong, very bright, and knows what it wants. It may experience fears, but courage comes almost too easily to the lovers’ heart as does forgiveness it seems in many cases. All of these attributes sunstone helps to surface because those in love have always done great things. Those in love have bright fires that come alive. With or without a lover these states of being can come forth and sunstone will always help with that.

Sunstone also helps one know the timing of when to end begin something. This stone doesn’t like to hang out past the expiry date, nor does it like to begin too early. It likes, and will help all who work with him, to work in time with all the energies that surround you with a confident grace of inner knowing.

Keywords: Sunstone, masculine, moonstone, meditation, lover’s hearts, heart, energy, endings, beginnings, leadership, condfidence.

Chakra: Solar Plexus

Astrological Sign: Leo

This is a wonderful stone that brings out your light. With its red-yellow phosphorescent color it resembles labordorite and moonstone, but instead of looking inside, it promotes you to shine your light – bring what’s inside of you into the world.

This is a stone commonly associated with leadership as this stone values freedom, empowerment, and individuality. Sunstone harmonizes the world, and helps create a sense of worthiness, increasing self-esteem and self-confidence along the way. It offers protection and draws wealth while bringing optimism in all aspects to the user.

Sunstone helps one to become emotionally capable to take care of oneself instead of depending on others, and will help one to learn to nurture both others and oneself. It empowers the user by removing co-dependency and the tendency to procrastinate.

It is believed to powerfully bring abundance, good fortune, prosperity and protection to the user. Sunstone is believed to reinvigorate one’s health and strength. It’s commonly used now a-days to alleviate depression, seasonal affective disorder, anxiety and stress. Sunstone energizes and empowers one’s spirit, and brightens the soul.

raw sunstoneSunstone is often used in grids to help relieve aches, pain, cartilage problems, rheumatism, cramps, fevers, and other similar conditions.

Sunstone is an excellent stone to use to banish fears, nightmares, phobias, inhibitions and feelings of unworthiness. It has also been used to remove any unwanted or lingering energies.

Sunstone is associated with the Sun God Helios in Ancient Greece, and used to be placed on drinking vessels in order to prevent poisoning. It is the stone of Ra, the Egyptian God of the Sun.

Sunstone has been used in the past by the Vikings to actually navigate by the position of the sun. True sunstone refracts light, which makes it possible to locate the sun in fog, cloudy days and storms. Sunstone has also been said to glow when contact is made with Spirit Guides, commonly being placed in the center of the medicine wheel by Native American Medicine Men.

This particular stone has been oft used in solstice celebrations and gatherings. I feel, this is not fact, simply what I feel from my channelling and research that if you celebrate Solstice it would be highly beneficial for you to place a piece of sunstone on your alter, and at some point take time to connect with the stone by sitting with it in meditation on the Solstice. All pieces of true sunstone (not aventurine or golden sunstone but true sunstone) contain within them a connection to the part of human consciousness that has been celebrating Solstice’s past, present and future. Meditation during the Solstice will automatically draw forth all of this knowledge, and it will be shared when used in ritual, bringing to the meditator exactly what they need to receive from the reserves of old wisdom.

Try meditating with Sunstone and let me know what happens. 🙂

New Feature! Moonstone – Eye of the Goddess

This beautiful soft and loving stone was born deep in the embryos of the Earth with loving acceptance always as her role. She pulsates with the fluid energy of Kali while bringing forth Mother Mary’s purity and Athenas wisdom.

Soother of hearts,

Blue Moonstone

gatherer of tears,

shining as a star does

in the moonlight

she draws for in the user

and holder the strong yet soft,

open yet wise,

fluid yet demanding

energy of the feminine.

She quells the feminine when she has grown too strong for the masculine, her counterpart and lover she cannot live without. For her the ultimate joy comes working in deep and mystical equal partnership with the masculine. She demands to take responsibility for all of her actions and uses her deepest wisdom to bring forth the results she craves and desires quickly, sometimes dramatically, but powerfully.

She is the Eye of the Goddess.

What an introduction, eh?

This is a new feature with a focus various legends and lore of the gemstones. I’ll be channelling pieces from the Akashic Records like the above piece with pieces of my research and experience following below. Enjoy! Let’s get down to the lore!

My Experience

My experience of moonstone has been powerful and long. I began working with this gemstone several years ago after I dreamed of an old druid-like man appearing in my room. He told me that moonstone would protect me, and to place small pieces above every door and window. It would only allow the good to enter, and nothing bad would be able to pass through.

The next day I bought several tumbled pieces of moonstone that have travelled with me since, almost always being placed above the doors and windows of the rooms I live in. That has been my main use of this stone, occasionally sitting and wearing the odd stone for its calming and intuitive presence.

Writing this blog post inspired me to begin wearing a large piece of moonstone that sits on my windowsill most days and to observe the changes in my life. I noticed immediately a shift: powerful loving energies swirling around my being providing protection, intuitive insights and grace; a grace allowing me to confidently stand in my feminine. Moonstone is a keeper.

Legend Has It

In India, in Vedic legend it is told a battle was fought between Lord Vishnu and Bali, the demon god. Vishnu destroyed Bali by breaking his body into several pieces, which fell to the earth as different jewels. Moonstone was formed from the gleam of Bali’s eyes.

It is believed that the finest blue moonstones are washed ashore by the tides every 21 years, when the sun and moon were in an astrologically harmonious aspect to each other.

Blue moonstone is the most coveted around the world out of all the various types of moonstone.

Romans believed that moonstone was formed by frozen moonlight because of the way it shimmers.

Amulets of moonstone were hung in fruit trees to produce abundance crops. The amulets were associated with the following Goddesses: Isis, Diana, and Selene.

Moon Uses

There is said to be a white mark on the moonstone that follows the cycle of the moon. As the moon waxes and wanes, so too does the mark on the stone. When the moon is waning the wearer would be able to foretell evens, and when the moon was waxing it was used as an effective love charm.

When the moon is full, it is said that a lover can predict the future of the relationship by placing the moonstone in the mouth.

There are cultures that use moonstone as an aphrodisiac, and legends in India and Europe that state two people will fall passionately in love when the moon is high if they wearing moonstone in any way.

When staring at a moonstone for a long uninterrupted period of time it is said to put the person into a trance or hypnotize them. During this time insights into the future will be gained.

It is said that within the moonstone lives a spirit full of good that can bring abundance, fertility, and calmness to the users.

In the Middle East women sew moonstones to their clothes when they want to conceive a child.

An elixir was traditionally made of crushed moonstone to help cure insomnia, and the stone was also used to treat sleepwalking.
