Gemstone elixirs are a form of liquid love from the planet. Gemstones and crystals have been around for centuries and are one of the great creations of Mother Earth that many have been fascinated by. People have strived to be the wearer of the stones that we consider ‘precious’ or ‘semi-precious’. Often today, we are most attracted to the stones that give us some form of status: gold, ruby, emerald, diamond. Diamond in particular has been sold as a status symbol of wealth and is also known as the stone of marriage.

Ancient Uses

Just a thousand or two years ago gemstones and crystals were looked at a bit differently, much more similar to the new age thought that is becoming more and more common. The gemstones and crystals that were sought after were ones that were thought to have certain effects on the wearer or the area the stone was in. There were still stones and metals that were used for status, certainly, but it was a very common practice as well to wear say Moonstone, to bring out the soft nurturing aspect of the feminine, especially during childbirth. If someone wished to attract prosperity a pendant of Lodestone or Citrine would be worn and rubbed each time the person thought opposite of abundance.

It was common practice for all of time that the witches, alchemists, sages, and mystics to use gemstones and crystals in their own works. The stones were used for their metaphysical properties to attract or ban whatever was necessary. These metaphysical uses do not need to be given and used to just one group of people. The Earth has given and keeps creating more and more of these lovely stones so that all of Humanity can access and tangibly feel her love for us.

Consciousness

Each gemstone and crystal as well as metal has its own properties. Metaphysically, each gemstone, crystal and metal has its own personality and speciality. Personally, I think about the Mineral kingdom as its own world. Within the world there are different groups of people (different kinds of stones and minerals), and within each group are different personalities and specialities. I can have two pieces of Amethyst, but just like people in our society today, one piece may very much like to be put in a room above a fireplace and that’s where it is most happy. The other piece may be most happy when it is formed into a pendant and is able to “travel” with its “owner”.

No mineral in the world has an owner. They are very much like people and will travel to where they are most happy and most needed. Each mineral is born from the Earth with a very specific purpose in the world, and will do its work as necessary. Its easier to think of each gemstone and crystal that is in our lives as our friends. We can create a relationship with each one that is inside our lives that is mutually beneficial to both of us, as crazy as that might sound. As everything in our Universe is made up of energy, everything has some form of consciousness. Each mineral has its own form of consciousness that can easily be tapped into. The Mineral Kingdom  wants us to tap into it. They are a form of love from the Earth herself, and they want to express that love. They want to help you.

Alchemy

Creating gemstone elixirs is an ancient art form that many alchemists practised, among the infamous acts of creating gold and finding the fountain of youth. The alchemist would crush certain gemstones to a fine powder and put the powder  into water. The powder combined with water created an elixir was said to have the healing properties that were associated with the gemstones the powder came from and had the ability to heal any and all ailments effectively.

Ayurveda – Jyotish

There is in the Ayurvedic tradition which is still very alive and even possibly experiencing a rejuvenation of its work across the world, the Jyotish aspect.  This aspect of the Ayurvedic tradition will decipher which gemstones are best for the client and when and where to wear the minerals based on the date and time of birth so they can have their maximum effect on improving that persons quality of life. Certain gemstones are used to create more flow of prosperity, romance, and more.

Western Science

A much more recent scientific finding testifies to the power of these elixirs and to the simplicity of how subtle energy works. Dr. Emotos studies of the effect that words have on water – the actual molecules of water particles change based on the words that were put on the bottle that contained them over night were astounding. The transformation of the molecules were documented and can be seen on his website or inside books that are often sold in Chapters. One day I would like to submit each of the elixirs I make and have it documented.
